So.. We closed on the house yesterday morning! Closing took about an hour. After the papers were all signed we went to pick up the babies from the school where grandma Lynn watched them while we were at closing. Natalie got to ride in the tractor with uncle Eddie so when grandma Candi came she stopped to pick up Natalie and they met us at the house. Candi and I cleaned while Joe went to get a lawn mower, the kitchen table and chairs, the patio set, and the fridge. When Joe got back I left to pick up some yummy papa murphy's pizza and cheese bread for lunch and I stopped at the hardware store to pick up weed whipper string too.. That was exciting (sense the sarcasm).
Joe cut and trimmed the yard and then we all sat to eat lunch. Natalie either saw the mail carrier stop or was snooping in the mailbox. Either way, we ended up with our first pile of mail. No bills came! Phew! Haha! But we did get Joe's new debit card, new insurance cards, a utility consumer report for the past 12 months, and a service plan brochure for our appliances. It was just a little more settling to see mail addressed to us at the new address. It just seems a little more real. Without any of our furniture inside the house yet, it just feels like another walk through.
After lunch Candi left for a hair appointment so Joe and I took the kids for a ride to drop off the truck and trailer and bring our utility application into the city so we can switch utilities into our name.
we headed back to the house to continue cleaning. Lori showed up and helped with the kids! I vacuumed the house, Candi cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen and wiped down some bedrooms while Joe and two of his brothers and my youngest brother unpacked the trailers. Lori took Kaylee, Jamie, Nathan, Natalie and Lily to the park for a walk.
That's when everyone else showed up. Granny, Vicki, Katie, Dakota, John, Lynn, Steve, Erinn, Stevie, Amy, and Matt. John pulled out some bushes for me and Lynn bought and made dinner! A huge help!!!
After dinner everyone left. Joe and Richie started changing the locks on the house. Goober and Joe installed the baby gate. Lori brought cake, ice cream, brooms, juice and dishwasher soap! Candi brought cleaning supplies, snacks and juices. Everyone chipped in and it is so greatly appreciated!!!
Now Joe and I need to patch nail holes, paint, and rug doctor the carpets. Then we can move stuff in! I am hoping to be in by this weekend but I don't see that happening.Oh well! It's better to get everything done before there is stuff in the way.Maybe after the kids take a morning nap I will take them into town and bring in some bathroom hatbands and my big garbage can. Those things will be easy enough for me to do with the kids!
I can't wait to be in the house for good! This living in between two houses with four kids is for the birds! Haha!
