Tonight Kaylee has her first reconciliation! This means that her First Communion is coming up this spring! She has already asked what she is going to wear and what her dress is going to look like.. I would really like my mom to find my dress that my grandma made so she can wear that!! :o) Otherwise Joe and I will take her shopping. After that Joe and I will be heading to Montgomery to 'celebrate' John leaving Allied Waste for a new job! And if you are Joe or myself, that is something to be celebrated haha!
Tomorrow brings on a movie and a visit with Santa! My dad's company, TORO, is providing a Christmas party for the kids again! Lily has never met Santa before so this should be interesting.. I would really like to take the kids to the Eden Prairie mall on Sunday morning or early evening so I can get pictures with Santa! But I cannot take them all by myself so we will see what Joe says.. After the Christmas party tomorrow I will be making a trip north of the cities to see a friend! I am very excited as I havent seen her in far too long!
Sunday brings on Girl Scouts! Yup! Since Kaylee and I went to the 'She and Me' this month, she has decided that she wants to go back to her other troop! I understand.. She is more comfortable with the people that she has spent the past two years with. That and they do more activities and that is something that she really LOVES about Girl Scouts! They also have a longer meeting then the other troop so they are able to accomplish more in a meeting.. This is something that SHE gets to do by herself so SHE has been allowed to choose which troop she would prefer. And with Joe being done with hunting, it doesnt conflict too much with our weekend schedules.. Granted he is only done hunting for the rest of this year so we will have to deal with it all over again next year, but we want her to go where she is comfortable so we will just have to work around the schedule! Not really a big deal! That and I prefer Troop 25091.. I really enjoyed how the moms stay at the meetings and chat with eachother! Its so nice to know people in the community. With Troop 25197 the moms dont stay for that hour long meeting. And for us to do the driving back and forth for an hour meeting, I would get to sit at home for all of 25 minutes between dropping her off and having to leave to pick her up. So I sat in the car in the parking lot. Well, now its cold and gas is $2.95/gal so its not reasonabile to do that anymore..
An update on Joe's job situation: He has not heard back from CAT in Owatonna about a 2nd interview nor has he gotten a 'so sorry Charlie' letter.. He had an interview last Tuesday at Ziegler CAT in Shakopee.. and again hasnt heard back on a yes or a no.. So we take that with a grain of salt and keep moving on and hoping.. The good news is, CAT in Brooklyn Park where Joe has been a temp for the past 11 months, is hirring on lots more temps! He said that 5 started on Monday this week, 3 more (which we saw in training last Friday) will be starting next Monday, and that they plan to hire about 60 temps by the beginning of the new year! So that means that the rumors of CAT hirring again in January are very likely! So we are still hoping and praying! Joe also started on the new line on Monday of this week! He was selected as one of the guys (the ONLY temp on the line) to build a 2012 model. So that is good! He has also been able to put in 4.5 hours of overtime this week! That will help tremendously! As he only had a total of 20 hours in last week with Thanksgiving! That is the hard part of a temp job.. No holiday pay and no paid time off. Not like Joe takes a lot of time of of work anyways. But there is the job update.
I figured I would blog right away this morning as the rest of the weekend is looking a twee bit busy.. :o)
so happy to hear that Kaylee enjoys her girl scout troop. I really loved girl scouts as a kid. It's something that sounds really important to her and it's something only she gets to do (well, for right now anyway) so it's special for her.
ReplyDeleteHave fun meeting Santa! How nice of Toro to do a Christmas party, that's a lot of fun for the families and the kids I'm sure.
ps-cute new blog, I love it!
